Spittal is a small town north of Haverfordwest in the county of Pembrokeshire in Wales . The place got its name because it served as a refuge from the great plague .
The place has about 500 inhabitants. In 2004 a new primary school was built for around 120 students. The place also has a community hall, post office and pub.
