Peak energy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Switzerland, the term band energy refers to the basic demand for electricity that is consumed around the clock every day. In Switzerland , the band energy is supplied by nuclear power plants and run-of- river power plants on rivers. This corresponds to the term “ base load ” which is customary in Germany . The proportion of electricity consumption that exceeds the base load is referred to as peak energy in Switzerland . Thermal power plants and, above all, the easily controllable storage power plants in the Alps are used for this purpose in Switzerland . In Germany, the peak energy (the term is not used there) is divided into medium load and peak load .
