Tip tailor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tip cutter is a device in a paper machine for cutting the running paper or board web. Other areas of application are systems downstream of the paper machine, such as coating machines, slitters or rewinders.

The tip cutter gets its name from the pattern of the separated web.

function

A transfer carriage is mounted on a beam that is attached above or below the paper web over the entire width of the machine. A circular saw is located in the transfer carriage at the level of the paper web . When the tip cutter is activated, the transfer carriage moves to the other side of the paper web. Meanwhile, the circular saw cuts off the running paper web. The movement of the track and the shuttle car creates a sharp cross-section.
