The Splitska banka dd (interpreting. Bank of Split ) is a financial institution from Croatia in the legal form of a joint stock company based in Split / Croatia and since the 30th June 2006 belonging to the banking group Societe Generale of France .

According to its own information, the bank has a 9% market share and is one of the largest banks in Croatia . It has 112 branches and more than 460,000 customers, including more than 2,000 companies.

history

The Splitska banka was established in 2002 by the Austrian Bank Austria acquired for 132 million euros. After the takeover of Bank Austria by the Italian Unicredit in 2006, Splitska banka was sold to the French Société Générale for around EUR 1 billion due to the Croatian antitrust guidelines.
