Sportgastein (formerly Naßfeld) is a village in the Bad Gastein community and the highest ski area in the Naßfeld Valley with an altitude of 1584 to 2650  m above sea level. A.

Ski Area

The ski area is also the highest in the state of Salzburg that is not on a glacier. It belongs to the Gasteinertal ski region of the Ski amadé ski association . The ski area extends to the Kreuzkogel (2,686 m), and has 24 kilometers of slopes, mostly medium to difficult , accessed by the Goldbergbahn (8- seater gondola lift in two sections) and a drag lift (Kreuzkogel lift ) . The facilities are managed by Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG, which also operates the Angertal ski center . Due to the altitude, Sportgastein is snow sure from the end of November to the end of April / beginning of May and is interesting for variant skiers (edge ​​zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park ).

Sportgastein can be reached via the Gastein Alpine Road, which was built between 1970 and 1972. This road is toll and is also used by the 550 bus. There is no toll to be paid with a valid ski pass for skiing.
