The sports hall Schachen (short: the Schachen) is a handball hall in Aarau , Switzerland and the home of HSC Suhr Aarau .
In addition to the sports hall, there is the Schachen racecourse, the Schachen sports complex, the Schachen athletics station and the Schachen outdoor pool.
history
The Schachen opened in 1969. It was the home hall of BTV Aarau and TV Suhr .
At the men's handball world championship in 1986 , the chess game was the venue for Group A (preliminary round), Group II (main round) and the placement round.
After BTV Aarau and TV Suhr merged to form HSC Suhr Aarau in the 2007/08 season , Schachen remained their home hall.
