Teams

The 2007/08 season is the 59th regular time of the Swiss National League A in handball .

For this season the league was expanded from 8 to 12 teams. This was achieved by the fact that there was no relegation in the 2006/07 season and 4 teams (RTV 1879 Basel, ZMC Amicitia, TV Endingen, HC Kriens) rose from the NLB.

The Kadetten Schaffhausen and the Grasshopper Club Zurich joined forces this season to form an SG (game community). The second team from GCZ under the name GCZ Espoirs took over the vacant place in the championship.

The 12 teams play 2 double rounds of 22 games each.

Then a final round is played with the best 6 teams from the main round. The winner of the final round is the Swiss champion.

The other 6 teams from the main round play in a relegation round in which the points from the main round are taken. After completing the relegation round, the teams relegated to 5th and 6th place in the NLB.
