The BSV Bern is a Swiss handball club .

The association was founded in 1951 under the name TV Oberseminar .

In 1959 the club was renamed BSV Bern. In 2000 the BSV Bern AG was founded, which organizes the operation of the NLA team. In 2002 the BSV merged with Handball Muri Bern and ran under the name BSV Bern Muri. At the general assembly of 2018 it was decided to be called BSV Bern again from now on.

The main team of the BSV is one of the most successful in Switzerland. In 1959/60 the club was relegated to the National League A in. In the following year, the team became Swiss champions in indoor handball.

She achieved a special achievement about 20 years later (1979/80 season), when the BSV team won the Swiss championship title in the National League A in 18 games. No other team has managed this so far.

The main team's successful years came to an end when they were relegated to National League B in 1998/99 after 39 years. In 2002/03, the team made it back to the NLA.

In the last few years they were represented several times at the Cup Final Four and the playoff semifinals of the championship could also be reached.

The junior teams also won several Swiss championship titles. Most recently in the 2013/14 season at the U19 level. There are also several active teams in popular sports.
