Samuel Röthlisberger (born August 15, 1996 in Solothurn ) is a Swiss handball player . His body length is 1.98 m.

Career

In his youth, Röthlisberger played for the handball club Herzogenbuchsee . In 2011 he moved to BSV Bern Muri . Röthlisberger won the Swiss championship in 2014 with the BSV U-19 team. From the 2013/14 season he was also used in the National League A of the Swiss Handball League at BSV . In the 2014/15 season, Röthlisberger played with the BSV in the EHF Cup . For the 2017/18 season , Röthlisberger moved to the German Bundesliga club TVB 1898 Stuttgart . He played his first game in the Bundesliga on August 24, 2017 against MT Melsungen .

Röthlisberger went through all youth national teams in Switzerland. In 2014 Röthlisberger took part in the U-18 European Championship with Switzerland.

Röthlisberger also took part in the U-20 European Championship with Switzerland in 2014 . With a third place in group B, Switzerland retired. In 2016, Röthlisberger again took part in the U-20 European Championship with Switzerland. Switzerland took 9th place.

Röthlisberger participated with Switzerland in the qualification for the U-21 World Cup 2015 . Switzerland failed in the qualification.

On June 11, 2016, Röthlisberger played his first international match in the Swiss national team against Slovakia . He has played a total of 42 international matches. It was used in qualifying for the 2018 European Championship .

Röthlisberger occupies the position of a left backcourt player , but is also used as a circular runner. He is also considered a defense specialist .

Röthlisberger attended the Hofwil Gymnasium , a Swiss Olympic Partner School .

Röthlisberger has two younger siblings, a sister and a brother.
