The 10th Men's U-20 European Handball Championship 2014 was held in Austria from July 24th to August 3rd, 2014 . The organizer was the European Handball Federation (EHF). Germany won the U-20 European Championship for the third time in the final against the Swedish team 26:24.

Venues

The venues for the games were the TipsArena in Linz with a capacity for 6,000 spectators and the HAKA-Arena in Traun with a capacity of 1,500 spectators.

qualification

36 teams took part in the tournament. Austria as hosts, Germany as defending champions of the U-18 EM 2012 and Sweden as runner-up in the U-18 EM 2012 were automatically qualified .

Preliminary round

In the preliminary round, each team in a group plays once against each other team in the same group. The best two teams in each group qualified for the main round, the third and fourth group qualified for the intermediate round. The draw for the preliminary round took place on April 24, 2014 in Linz.

Main round

In the main round, the first and second in the group play off the participants in the semi-finals. The result from the preliminary round (first group against second in a preliminary round group) will be taken into the main round. The winners and runners-up in Group I + II qualify for the semi-finals. The third and fourth group go into the cross games for 5th to 8th place.

Intermediate round

In the second round, the third and fourth group play out the participants in the cross games.
