Yves Kunkel (born May 13, 1994 in Völklingen ) is a German handball player who can play on the left wing as well as in the back .

Career

society

Yves Kunkel played for HSG Völklingen in the A-Jugend-Bundesliga until 2013 . In the 2012/13 season he also had a second game right for the second division HG Saarlouis . For the 2013/14 season he moved to the Bundesliga club GWD Minden . After the descent of Minden he moved to season 2015/16 for HBW Balingen-Weilstetten , where he was the Bundesliga top scorer in the season 2016/17 with 5.5 goals per game and a total of 171 hits seventh. From summer 2017 he was under contract with SC DHfK Leipzig . For Leipzig, he played 35 games in which he scored 116 goals. He has been playing for MT Melsungen since the 2018/19 season .

National team

Kunkel was part of the German junior national team, for which he scored 54 goals in 10 international matches (including the 2014 U20 European Championship) . Before that, he was a member of the national youth team, for which he scored 159 goals in 38 international matches. With the national team he won the U-18 European Championship in 2012 and the U-20 European Championship in 2014 and won the bronze medal at the U-19 World Championship in 2013 . At the U20 European Championship in 2014, he was the second top scorer behind the Austrian Nikola Bilyk with 49 goals .

On June 14, 2015, Kunkel made his international debut for the men's national team in a 31:29 win against Austria in the context of the European Championship qualification in Kiel .
