The 5th U-19 men's handball world championship was held in Hungary from 9 to 23 August 2013 . The organizer was the International Handball Federation (IHF). The defending champion was Denmark.

Venues

The venues for the games were Budaörs and Érd . Both cities are approx. 15-20 km from the center of the capital Budapest .

Group draw

The draw for the preliminary round groups of the U-19 World Handball Championship 2013 took place on May 23, 2013 at 11:00 am in Budaörs. The 24 qualified teams were divided into four groups of six teams each. At the drawing, the 24 teams were divided into six pots, which were broken down according to the ranking list.
