The 19th U-21 men's handball world championship was held from July 14th to 28th, 2013 in Bosnia and Herzegovina . The organizer was the International Handball Federation (IHF). The defending champion was Germany.

The draw for the preliminary round groups of the XIX U-21 World Handball Championship 2013 took place on April 18, 2013 in Sarajevo.
The 24 qualified teams were divided into four groups of six teams each. During the draw, the 24 teams were divided into six pots, which were broken down according to the ranking.
