Jürgen Schweikardt (born April 23, 1980 in Waiblingen , Germany ) is a German handball player , trainer and manager . His height is 1.91 m.

Schweikardt has been playing handball at TV Bittenfeld since he was six . At the beginning of the 2001/02 season he moved to the then second division TV Kornwestheim . After the season he returned to TV Bittenfeld. With the TVB Schweikardt rose in 2003 to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . In 2004 he achieved promotion to the regional league with the TVB . In 2006 he was promoted to the 2nd handball Bundesliga south with Bittenfeld.

In 2008, Schweikardt became managing director of the newly founded TV Bittenfeld Handball GmbH in addition to his role as a player.

At the end of the 2010/2011 season , he qualified with TV Bittenfeld for the newly founded single-track 2nd handball Bundesliga .

In March 2013, Schweikardt took over the interim coaching position at TV Bittenfeld together with the previous assistant coach Heiko Burmeister , but was still available as a player until the end of the season.

Schweikardt has played 220 second division games as a player and scored 782 goals. His position was the back room .

From the 2013/14 season , he was head coach of TV Bittenfeld. At the end of the 2014/15 season , he resigned from his position as a coach after he was promoted to the handball Bundesliga for the first time . Subsequently he worked for the club exclusively as managing director of TVB 1898 Handball GmbH & Co. KG.

On February 18, 2018, the club, now taking the name TVB 1898 Stuttgart , announced that Schweikardt had again taken over the coaching position after the TVB had separated from Markus Baur after ten games without winning points . At the end of the 2017/18 season , his coaching contract was extended by three years. As managing director, Schweikardt is still responsible for the areas of sport, communication and organization, Sven Franzen took over the finance, sales and event departments on July 1, 2018.

In 2006 Schweikardt was awarded the sports merit plaque of the city of Waiblingen for special services to sport.

Schweikardt is a qualified business economist. He has two children.

Jürgen Schweikardt is the son of Günter Schweikardt , the sports director of the TVB 1898 Stuttgart. His brother Michael Schweikardt worked as a player for the TVB 1898 Stuttgart.
