2. Handball Bundesliga 2001/02

The second handball league launched in previous years, in the season 2001/02 with a North and a Südstaffel. TuS N-Lübbecke and Wilhelmshavener HV rose from the north season, and VfL Pfullingen from the south season into the 1st  handball league .
