The club became famous in the 1970s when the team rose to the top of the then two-part handball Bundesliga for the first time in 1972 as champions of the Regionalliga Nord . The home games took place in the Stadthalle Bremen . The goal scorers Rolf Harjes and Wilfried Lankenau were appointed to the national team. After three years of membership in the first division, the North Bremen relegated to the regional league in 1975. But in 1976 the immediate rise again succeeded. As a climber, the Grambkers then just missed the leap into the new one-piece handball Bundesliga, which was formed in 1977, and had to go back to the Regionalliga Nord.
But the promotion succeeded again: In 1978/79 Grambke was in the one-piece Bundesliga and was able to achieve relegation. In addition to team captain Harjes and national player Roberto Pries , the focus was on a young player who then made a career at THW Kiel as a national player and manager: Uwe Schwenker , son of Bremen handball idol Hinrich Schwenker . In the 1979/80 season , however, the Bremer rose again.
In later years, the Black and Yellows made it to the 2nd Bundesliga North for a few years. But financial problems led to the temporary end of top handball at TV Grambke.
Since the 2005/06 season, the TV Grambke Bremen played in the newly formed Nordsee Association League and reached places 5 and 4. In the 2009/2010 season, the club plays in the Oberliga Nordsee.
In 2010, TV Grambke merged with SG Oslebshausen to form SV Grambke / Oslebshausen. Since then, the 1st men has been playing under a new name in the Bremen State League. The club colors are now yellow / blue.
