The TSG Oßweil was a sports club from Ludwigsburg - Oßweil .

history

founding

The club was founded on October 6, 1895 in the “Zur Rose” inn as a gymnastics club in Oßweil . After the war ended, the existing associations were dissolved by the American military government in 1945. In 1946 the SKV Ludwigsburg-Oßweil was founded , which in 1948 was renamed VfL Ludwigsburg-Oßweil . In 1968 VfL was dissolved into its individual divisions, whereupon TSG Ludwigsburg-Oßweil was created on October 30, 1968 .

Handball

The successful handball division went back to the handball department founded in the gymnastics club in 1923. The greatest success of the handball team came with the German runner-up in indoor handball in 1951 .

In the 1970s, the male A-youth became German handball champions in 1973 and 1974. In 1976, the men's team was promoted to the handball Bundesliga under coach Kurt Boll, where they belonged for a year. It was followed by relegation to the league.

In 1991 and 2002 the first team in men's handball was promoted to the second handball league . In 2003 the first men's team was spun off from the main club into a GmbH & Co. KG. This played in the 2nd handball Bundesliga. After financial problems, the GmbH had to file for bankruptcy in 2006. Then the game community HBR Ludwigsburg was founded together with the Kornwestheim gymnastics club . After a season the contract was terminated.

Dissolution and re-establishment

As the successor club to TSG Oßweil, a new club was founded under the name SV Ludwigsburg-Oßweil . The entire association was transferred to 100%. The first men's team last played in the Württembergliga Nord. Due to a lack of sponsors, the first men's team was released from play in the 2009/10 season and was therefore the first relegated team. In the 2010/11 season, the first men's team played in the state league, after a few relegations and the temporary fall in the district class, the 2019 department of HB Ludwigsburg joined.
