The HBR Ludwigsburg was a handball game community from the region Ludwigsburg .

history

Since mid-2005, the two traditional clubs TSG Ludwigsburg-Oßweil and TV Kornwestheim , which has since merged into SV Salamander Kornwestheim , have held initial talks to establish a syndicate . After the talks were temporarily interrupted at the beginning of 2006, the two previous arch-rivals decided in May 2006 to found a syndicate that would take part in the 2. Bundesliga South at the beginning of the 2006/07 season. This was dissolved again at the end of the 2006/07 season.

The successor to HBR in the second handball Bundesliga should be the TVK successor SV Salamander Kornwestheim , while TSG Ludwigsburg-Oßweil competes in the fifth-highest division (Württembergliga) for the 2007/2008 season.

Under the name SVK Salamander Stuttgart , the second division team was supposed to compete in the Stuttgart Porsche-Arena from the 2007/08 season , but this could not work as expected. TVK Marketing & Management GmbH & Co. KG, which holds the Bundesliga license, applied for bankruptcy on July 12, 2007, whereupon the City of Stuttgart terminated the contracts with the club. After the team initially wanted to keep the game in the second Bundesliga as SV Salamander Kornwestheim in the 2007/08 season , the insolvency administrator announced just over a week after the start of the bankruptcy application process that there was no longer any chance of restructuring. The game of the first men's team therefore had to be stopped. The previous players received immediate approval to change clubs.

According to the statutes of the Handball Bundesliga (HBL), the club was the first to be relegated in the 2007/08 season. SV Salamander Kornwestheim competed in the regional league in the 2007/08 season and made it to the Württembergliga in which the sports club competed in the 2008/2009 season.

Venue

HBR Ludwigsburg played its home games in three different sports halls: the circular sports hall in Ludwigsburg , the multi-purpose hall in Ludwigsburg-Ossweil and, for test purposes, in the Stuttgart Porsche Arena .

From the 2007/08 season, the SVK Salamander team wanted to compete exclusively in the Stuttgart Porsche-Arena . Due to the insolvency of the association, the relevant contracts have been terminated by the city of Stuttgart in the meantime.
