Handball Bundesliga 1981/82

The 2nd handball Bundesliga 1981/82 was the first season in the history of the 2nd Bundesliga . It replaced the regional league as the second highest division in handball and was played in two seasons. The season began on September 5, 1981 and ended with the last game day on May 8, 1982.

24 teams played in the " everyone against everyone " mode with one home and one away game each for three promotion places in the Bundesliga . The first in the table in the North and South seasons rose directly. The second in the table had to play two playoffs for promotion.

The season winners and thus direct promoters to the handball Bundesliga 1982/83 were MTSV Schwabing and TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen . The HSG Hannover and TuS Griesheim played two playoffs for promotion, with the HSG Hannover - starting as PSV Hannover in the coming season - prevailing.

From the 2. Bundesliga in the Regionalliga 1982/83 descend had the SG VTB / Altjührden that TuS Derschlag 1881, the SV Grunewald 60 , the VfL Heppenheim and TSV Milbertshofen .

In the 264 games of both seasons together, a total of 9,788 goals were scored (ø 37 per game). There were 150 home wins, 39 draws and 75 away wins.

North season

In the 132 games of the North Season, an average of 38 goals per game were scored with 5,034 goals. There were 80 home wins, 15 draws and 37 away wins. The highest away win was achieved by the team of TBV Lemgo on the 22nd matchday with 13:34 at SV Grunewald 60. The highest goal game took place on the 21st matchday between DSC Wanne-Eickel and TSV Verden and ended at 32:30. That was 24 goals more than the league season average. Two clubs were at the top of the table during the season: VfL Fredenbeck (2 ×) and TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen (20 ×).

MTSV Schwabing recorded the highest home win on matchday 6 with 28:12 against VfL Heppenheim . The MTSV Schwabing team also achieved the highest away win on matchday 20 with 13:34 at TuS Schutterwald .
