Teams

The 2006/07 season is the 58th regular time of the Swiss National League A in handball . This season there was no relegation, as the league was enlarged to 12 teams in the 2007/08 season .

The SG central Switzerland had two months before the season starts for the club going bankrupt withdraw their teams. Since there is no regulation for this case, the SHL decided to give the SG Chênois & Servette the space to make handball more attractive in French- speaking Switzerland.

The 8 teams play a quadruple round of 28 games each.

The best four teams in the main round will determine the Swiss champions in play-off style. The semi-finals and the final are played according to the best-of-five mode . The losers play in a placement round for ranks 3 and 4.

The other four teams from the main round determine the ranks 5 to 8 in a playout. The winners of the first playout round play for ranks 5 and 6. For the losers, the season is over.
