Saint-Jean-de-Serres is a commune in the French department of Gard in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). It belongs to the canton of Quissac (until 2015 Lédignan ) and the arrondissement of Alès . It is bordered by Lézan to the northwest , Cardet to the northeast, Lédignan to the east, Aigremont to the southeast, Savignargues to the south and Canaules-et-Argentières to the southwest .
