Saint-Julien-de-Cassagnas is a municipality in the south of France in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). It belongs to the Gard department , the Alès arrondissement and the Rousson canton . It is bordered by Les Mages to the west and northwest , Potelières to the northeast, Allègre-les-Fumades to the southeast and Rousson to the south .

history

The village was mentioned in the twelfth century in a feudal document from the lords of Castle Allègre (The Fumades) to the city of Saint Julien de Cassagnas.

During the French Revolution the community was named Cassagnas.
