The Arrondissement Alès is an administrative unit of the French department of Gard within the Occitanie region . The administrative seat ( sub-prefecture ) is Alès .
It consists of 97 municipalities, which have been divided into six constituencies since a reorganization in 2015 . Some of the constituencies also include municipalities in other arrondissements.

Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the arrondissement Alès became the area of the six municipalities Aigremont , Cardet , Cassagnoles , Lédignan , Maruéjols-lès-Gardon and Saint-Bénézet the arrondissement Le Vigan and the area of the two municipalities Domessargues and Mauressargues the arrondissement Assigned to Nîmes .
Instead, the area of the four municipalities of Saint-Bonnet-de-Salendrinque , Sainte-Croix-de-Caderle , Thoiras and Vabres changed from the Arrondissement of Le Vigan to the Arrondissement of Alès.
