Allègre-les-Fumades is located about 16 kilometers northeast of Alès on the Auzonnet . The Cèze limits the municipality to the north. Allègre-les-Fumades is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Denis in the north, Rivières in the northeast, Fons-sur-Lussan in the east, Bouquet in the southeast, Navacelles in the south, Servas in the southwest, Rousson and Saint-Julien-de-Cassagnas in the West and Potelières in the north-west.

history

A Celtic oppidum can be found here from prehistoric times. The former castle of Allègre indicates the importance of the settlement in the Middle Ages.
