Générargues is a French commune with 699 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gard department of the Occitanie region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Alès and the canton of Alès-1 ( Anduze until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Générargais .
geography
Générargues is about nine kilometers west-southwest of Alès . The Gardon d'Anduze river limits the municipality to the south-west. Générargues is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Sébastien-d'Aigrefeuille in the north, Saint-Jean-du-Pin in the northeast, Bagard in the east, Boisset-et-Gaujac in the southeast, Anduze in the south and southwest, Thoiras in the west and Mialet in the Northwest.
