Massanes is a French commune with 194 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gard department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Alès and the canton of Quissac (until 2015 Lédignan ).

geography

Massanes is about eleven kilometers south-southeast of Alès . The Gardon (as Gardon d'Anduze ) delimits the municipality in the north. The neighboring municipalities of Massanes are Ribaute-les-Tavernes in the north and north-west, Cassagnoles in the south and east and Cardet in the west and south-west.
