Molières-sur-Cèze is located about 16 kilometers north-northeast of Alès am Cèze . Molières-sur-Cèze is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Meyrannes in the north, Saint-Ambroix in the east, Les Mages in the south-east, Saint-Jean-de-Valériscle in the south, Robiac-Rochessadoule in the west and north-west and Bessèges in the north-west.

Because of the earlier coal mining, the community used to have many more inhabitants.
