Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the area of the six municipalities of Aigremont , Cardet , Cassagnoles , Lédignan , Maruéjols-lès-Gardon and Saint-Bénézet was assigned to the Arrondissement Le Vigan from the Arrondissement Alès .
Instead, the area of the four municipalities of Saint-Bonnet-de-Salendrinque , Sainte-Croix-de-Caderle , Thoiras and Vabres changed from the Arrondissement Le Vigan to the Arrondissement Alès and the area of the municipality Cannes-et-Clairan to the Arrondissement Nîmes .
