The Gufufoss ( Icelandic steam waterfall) is a waterfall in eastern Iceland .
The Fjarðará is the outflow from the Heiðarvatn and falls 27 meters below the Gufufoss. There are over ten waterfalls in the course of the river and the surrounding area. Before Seyðisfjörður , the water is used in the Fjarðarselsvirkjun power station.
It is located south of the Seyðisfjarðarvegur which leads over the Fjarðarheiði and connects Seyðisfjörður with Egilsstaðir and the other parts of Iceland.
