Anaspis thoracica is a beetle from the family of the silk beetles (Scraptiidae).

features

The beetles are 2.5–3 mm in size. They have an elongated oval body. The head, pronotum and legs of the beetles are colored yellow-red. The basal antennae are also yellow-red, while the remaining antennae are dark in color. The wing covers and the ventral side of the beetles are usually black, but can also be reddish in color. Way of life

The adults are usually observed between May and early August. The beetles can be found on the flowers of various umbelliferae (including meadow hogweed ) and rose plants , but also on wild asparagus.
