U18 world championship

The World Championship for under 18s took place from May 7th to 13th. Germany was able to live up to its favorite role, but the Eastern European teams also played strongly. What was not to be expected otherwise, especially Croatia should be mentioned here. This is also reflected in the nation ranking.

Competitions

In addition to the team competition, there were other competitions at the U18 World Cup.

U18 team

Four players a 120 throw. The players play at set times. So there is always only one player per nation on the track. The total number of cones is decisive for the allocation of the placement.

U18 couple

Two players a 120 throw. Both players play side by side at the same time. The total number of cones is decisive for the allocation of the placement.

U18 tandem mixed

One player each, throw alternately on one lane against an opposing pair on the branch lane a total of 30 throws. The pair with the higher number of cones receives one point. If there is a tie, a Sudden Victory is played with one throw. After the point has been awarded, the lane is changed and another 30 throws are played alternately. The pair with the higher score gets another point here. If there is again a tie in this sentence, another SV is played with one throw. If it is tied after sets, i.e. 1: 1, an SV is played with 2 throws in the full until the decision is made. The winners are one round further, the losers are eliminated.

U18 single sprint

A player plays 10 throws in the full and 10 throws in clearing against the opponent drawn. The higher number of cones receives one point. In the event of a tie, an SV (Sudden Victory) is played with one throw until the decision is made. Then the lane is changed and another 10/10 throw is played. If the set is also a tie, an SV is played again until the decision is made. If the score is 1: 1, an SV is played with 3 throws in the full until the decision is made. The winner progresses one round.

U18 single classic

The 16 best players qualify for the individual competition. The 16 best are determined by adding up the results from the team and the pair competition. 120 litters (4 × 30 litters) are played individually. The winner is the one with the highest number of wood.

U18 combination

The player with the best overall result from three disciplines becomes the combined world champion. These are the results from the team, the couple fight and the individual competition.
