Voice animation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Language animation is a method in foreign language didactics that is used to get to know the basics of a foreign language and to deepen knowledge that has already been acquired. It helps with communication in intercultural groups and increases the participants' ability to perceive themselves and others.

Basics

Language animation does not have the (primary) goal of teaching someone a foreign language, but rather to bring the language closer and to become aware of one's own language. Speech animation uses different games with which it is possible to reduce the fear of the (foreign) language as well as of speaking (regardless of the language) and of possible mistakes. Participants gain greater self-confidence in using the foreign language in everyday communication.

In addition, elementary cultural similarities, but also differences, are conveyed. Through intercultural exercises, the participants can get an idea of the other culture and become aware of their own feelings and opinions.

Speech animation runs in constant interaction and intensive dialogue. It is not about one-sided language teaching on the part of the language animators, but rather the participants bring their own initiative, creativity and imagination. Speech animation brings movement and dynamism to the group. In no way is it a classic teaching method or systematic teaching.

term

The term "speech animation " is made up of the words " language " and " animation ". One of the main meanings of the word "language" is the ability to speak. There are two different basic meanings for the word "animation" in the lexicons. In addition to the "process that gives motion to inanimate objects in animated films " , "organized sports and leisure activities for vacationers, especially in holiday clubs" appear here . Just as holiday club animators encourage guests to engage in leisure activities and like animators bring two-dimensional heroes to life, voice animators - literally as well as figuratively - get the participants of the voice animation in motion and encourage them to engage in activities related to language. They stimulate creativity and initiative and inspire language and thought games. The language animation serves to arouse the participants' desire (not only) in the language of the neighboring country in a playful way and to look at the world from a different perspective.
