Spray (flowers)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Spray is a horticultural type name for a multi-shoot inflorescence . It comes from the spray-like branching of the inflorescence.

The name is used particularly often as part of the trade name or variety name of multi-branch cut flower types of chrysanthemums and carnations , which are very widespread for the production of bouquets in flower making .

Chrysanthemums

The best-selling spray chrysanthemums at the Dutch flower auctions (based on VBN sales in 2005) currently include varieties from the series of the Euro and Reagan types (around a third of all varieties sold there). The spray chrysanthemums also include the increasingly popular Santini types.
