Module for the Springboard expansion slot of the Handspring Visor

The Springboard Expansion Slot is an interface for connecting peripheral devices to PDAs of the Visor brand from Handspring .

The springboard slot developed by Handspring brought the address and data bus of the DragonBall processors out to the periphery. The slot was introduced in 1999 with the Visor; this was the first expandable Palm OS PDA. For this innovation, Handspring received the "Annual Award 1999" in the handheld category of PC Magazine.

Some peripheral devices (called “springboards”) were produced for the slot, for example cameras, modems and adapters for memory cards. However, since it was very large, it was not used outside of the Visor series.
