Trace image
In criminology, the trace image is the factual overall view of all traces after a forensic investigation by the criminal police , or alternatively by the police .
The trace image can provide information about the course of events (e.g. battle traces) or the perpetrator (e.g. accumulation of identical fingerprint traces) in the investigation procedure (in the case of criminal offenses) and ultimately serves as evidence of the perpetrator in court .
Trace images are made up of the securing of evidence , the analysis of the evidence and the logical merging with facts relevant to the crime.
Trace images are not images (photographs / graphics), but reflect the status of an investigation as a series of findings (facts).
