history
The municipal clinic in Moltkestrasse was founded in 1907 and was briefly used as a military hospital by the American armed forces after the Second World War. The building complex in the southern part of the approximately 400 × 400 m large clinic area, which dates back to the founding time, has since been supplemented by modern new buildings.
Since 1994 it has been managed by a state non-profit GmbH ( gGmbH ), which is 100% owned by the city of Karlsruhe.
As a supra-regional trauma center, it has been part of the DGU- certified trauma network North Baden since 2012 .
