St-Jean-Baptiste in Leuville-sur-Orge

The Catholic Church of St-Jean-Baptiste in Leuville-sur-Orge , a French parish in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region , was built in the 13th century.

The church on Rue Georges Clemenceau , dedicated to John the Baptist, underwent major changes in the 19th century. The west facade with the rose window is the oldest part. A chapel for the landlord , the Duke of Noailles, was added to the side of the hall church in 1766 . The rectangular bell tower was completely clad with slate in the 19th century . The wooden main altar and figures of saints date from the 17th century.
