Church of St-Martin in Bommes
Romanesque capital

The Catholic Church of St-Martin in Bommes , a French parish in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was built in 1840.

The church in the middle of the cemetery stands on the site of a previous building from the 12th century. The bell tower was only built under Napoleon III. added. The Vicomte de Pontac financed the tower and the leaded glass windows . In return, his coat of arms and that of his wife were attached to the building.

Four Romanesque capitals from the demolished previous building were placed on the wall of the rectory.
