St-Pancrace

St-Pancrace is a Roman Catholic church in the French commune of Les Thons in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region .

history

The church of St-Pancrace was built at the end of the 15th century in place of a previous church. The consecration of the church was carried out by Antoine de Neufchatel, the abbot of the Benedictine Abbey of Luxeuil . The Abbey of Luxeuil was entitled to two thirds of the tithe until the French Revolution . The single nave was extended by a yoke in the 19th century. The choir tower and the just closing apse were probably taken over from the previous building and were built before the 15th century. The sacristy is located in the former stately chapel in which the last Lord von Thons, Jean Baptiste Marc Toussaint de Viray, was buried.
