The St. George Utah Temple is the oldest operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). It is located in St. George in the US state of Utah .

Brigham Young presided over the dedicatory meeting on April 6, 1877, and the dedicatory prayer was spoken by George A. Smith. Wilford Woodruff served as the first temple president from January 1, 1877 to June 26, 1884.

After a temple renovation, it was rededicated on November 11, 1975 by President Spencer W. Kimball .
