St. Nicholas Church in the Ethnographic Museum of Transbaikaliens

The St. Nicholas Church ( Russian Церковь Святителя Николая ), which is now in the Ethnographic Museum of Transbaikalia 8 km northeast of Ulan-Ude , was built at the beginning of the 20th century as a wooden church made of tree trunks in the Buryat village of Nikolsk and was built by Old Believers ( Semeiskije ) used. It was closed in 1930 and then used as a warehouse. In 1971 it was moved to its current location in the Ethnographic Museum of Transbaikaliens, the restoration there was completed in 1977. It was one of the first exhibits in this museum, which opened in 1973. The iconostasis has also been open to visitors since 1998 .
