The Catholic St. Anna Chapel in the Starzlachtal in the small hamlet of Rohrmoos in Oberstdorf is considered to be the oldest wooden chapel in the Alpine region. It was built entirely of wood in the late Renaissance in 1568 and is also famous for its well-preserved mannerist paintings (figures of apostles and saints, the great judgment of the world, altarpieces). Both the winged altar and the popular frescoes date from the founding year. The Anna Chapel is open all year round. Christenings and weddings take place throughout the year, with some services for hunters and foresters in autumn.

In 1901 the paintings were restored by the church painter Kaspar Schleibner .
