The Starzlachtal , (also Rohrmooser Tal or Rohrmoostal ) is a valley in the Allgäu Alps west of Oberstdorf . The Starzlach rises a little northwest of Rohrmoos just before the Aibele Alpe on the European watershed and flows into the Breitach immediately behind the Breitachklamm below the Engenkopf . The name "Starzlach" means something like "to move quickly".

The most important hamlet in the valley is Rohrmoos with its inn and the oldest wooden chapel in southern Germany, St. Anna . Hirschgund is just before the border with Austria . There are several Alps on the north and south side of the valley . The valley is very well developed by an asphalt road, although the part from Tiefenbach to Rohrmoos is subject to toll and the road from Rohrmoos to the border is closed to public traffic.
