The St. Augustinus Group is a company in the social and health sector. It is the responsibility of the Cor Unum Foundation - Preservation of the Legacy of the Neuss Augustinian Sisters and the Congregation of the Brothers of St. Alexius . With 14 companies at 80 locations, over 5000 employees and an interlinked range of services in the fields of somatics, psychiatry, assistance for the handicapped and assistance for the elderly, the St. Augustinus Group is one of the largest Catholic providers of health and social services on the Lower Rhine.
history
Always closely associated with nursing in Neuss and the surrounding area, the Augustinian women founded numerous facilities that could no longer be run by themselves due to the lack of children. In 2001 the nuns converted their institutions into legally independent limited liability companies and founded the foundation of the Neuss Augustinian women - Cor unum. Together with the Neuss Province of the Congregation of the Brothers of St. Alexius followed in June 2004 with the establishment of St. Augustinus-Kliniken gGmbH . Since July 1, 2007, the Neuwerk Hospital and the Niederrhein Klinik Korschenbroich have also been part of the St. Augustinus Group.
In 2012, the new construction of the Alexius / Josef Hospital was opened as a merger of two previously neighboring psychiatric hospitals. In 2015 the St. Martinus House opened in Grevenbroich-Wevelinghoven and the Augustinus Memory Center in Neuss. Here the St. Augustinus Group unites advisory and support services for people with dementia and their relatives under one roof; it also offers information and exchange for doctors, nurses, scientists and interested parties.
In July 2018 it was announced that it would now operate under the name of St. Augustinus Group. The group now includes “14 subsidiaries at 80 locations with around 5,200 employees”.
Departments
Hospitals and health centers
Somatics includes outpatient and inpatient care for physically ill people. The St. Augustinus Group offers this in the Johanna Etienne Hospital in Neuss, the Neuwerk Hospital in Mönchengladbach and in the Lower Rhine Clinic Korschenbroich . In addition to a large number of outpatient offers, 1,000 inpatient beds are available. Around 1,700 employees are responsible for around 74,000 outpatients and 38,000 inpatients every year. The Savita health and exercise centers in Neuss, Mönchengladbach and Grevenbroich as well as the physiotherapy school of the same name in Mönchengladbach also belong to the group of companies.
St. Augustine specialist clinics
The division of psychiatry includes outpatient and inpatient support for people with acute mental illnesses. 730 employees are on duty at the Alexius / Josef Hospital in Neuss and at the Königshof Clinic in Krefeld. There are 540 places available for mentally ill people. There is also a network of day clinics and outpatient clinics, which are located in Neuss and Krefeld as well as in Dormagen, Grevenbroich and Meerbusch.
St. Augustine Disability Aid
The St. Augustinus Disability Aid is active with more than 470 inpatient accommodation and outpatient services: currently for around 430 outpatient clients in Krefeld, in the Rhine district of Neuss and in the Rhein-Erft district with over 680 employees for people with chronic mental illnesses, addictions or mental retardation.
St. Augustine Aid for Elderly
The facilities of the elderly help include the Johannes von Gott House in Neuss, the Raphael House in Krefeld, the Augustinushaus in Dormagen, the Maria Hilf House in Viersen, the Josef House in Solingen, the Theresienheim in Viersen-Dülken, the St. Martinus House in Grevenbroich-Wevelinghoven and the Augustinus Memory Center in Neuss.
