St. Beatus (Thun)

The St. Beatus Church is a Christian Catholic church in Thun in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .

history

The church building dates from 1840 when it was built as an Anglican church. In 1942 the Christian Catholic congregation acquired the building from the owner Thunerhof AG, in 1946 the dilapidated church was renovated, and on June 16 it was consecrated by Bishop Adolf Küry . At that time, Thun was still considered a subsidiary of the Bernese Christian Catholic community. In 1994 the church was renovated, in 1996 the congregation became independent, in 1998 the national synod was held in Thun.
