St. Georg is a Roman Catholic church in Bad Pyrmont in the Hameln-Pyrmont district ( Lower Saxony ). The church and parish belong to the pastoral association Falkenhagen-Lügde-Bad Pyrmont in the dean's office Bielefeld-Lippe of the Archdiocese of Paderborn . It is the only Catholic church in the archbishopric in Lower Saxony.

history

The church was built in 1903/1904 according to a design by the Paderborn diocesan master builder Arnold Güldenpfennig . In 1962/1963 the church was extended (extended) under the direction of Aloys Dietrich .

architecture

The hall church has a three-sided choir closure in the south. Inside the church, a plastic star vault in prismatic shapes can be seen in the choir . It rests on pillars without capitals .

Furnishing

The liturgical furnishing of the church was carried out in the 1960s by Thomas Torkler . The colored glazing from this period was based on templates by Benno Lippsmeier .
