The Church of St. Joseph stands in the district Schelsen in Mönchengladbach ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ), Gereonstraße 40th

The building was built in 1924. It was entered under No. G 042 on February 8, 1994 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

It is a church with a parish hall and parsonage from the years 1924 and 1938, regionally influenced Heimatstil .

It is a three-part building complex that was completed every ten years. The central tract (parish hall) standing on the eaves , emphasized by a connecting corridor, is framed on the left by the gable church building and on the right by the rectory. The buildings are built in the local brick style with voluminous pitched roofs covered with brick.

Bells

In the tower of the church hangs a three-part ringing of bronze bells from the Otto bell foundry in Hemelingen / Bremen. The strike tone series is: f sharp - g sharp - b (f - g - b). The 2.3 ton bells were confiscated and transported away during World War II, but were not melted down and could be returned to the community after the war.
