Laura Birn
Laura Eveliina Birn (born April 25, 1981 in Helsinki , Finland ) is a Finnish actress .
Life
From 2002 to 2007 Laura Birn studied acting at the Helsinki Theater Academy . During this time she was already seen in several film and television productions. She also played regularly at the theater and has appeared on the stages of the KOM-teatteri , Helsingin Kaupunginteatteri and Q-teatteri, among others.
So far she has been nominated three times for the national Finnish film award Jussi . After two nominations for Best Supporting Actress for Helmiä ja sikoja and Liebe in Finnish , she received an award for Best Leading Actress in 2013 for her portrayal of Aliide Truu in Antti Jokinen 's novel adaptation of Sofi Oksanen's bestseller Purgatory . For the latter portrayal, she also received a nomination for Best Actress at the 2012 Satellite Awards .
Birn speaks Finnish with English , Spanish and Portuguese three foreign languages.
