The Catholic curate and pilgrimage church in St. Leonhard am Wonneberg is a late Gothic hall building with a polygonal choir and high west tower. It was built in 1496 on behalf of the Archbishop of Salzburg, Leonhard von Keutschach . The upper floor of the tower dates from 1691/92. The paintings in the remarkable winged altar are a donation from the Laufener Schiffergilde. On the patronage day of St. Leonhard, the Leonhardiritt of St. Leonhard am Wonneberg has been taking place for centuries . It is not only the largest in the Traunstein district, but is also one of the oldest in Bavaria.
The organ was created by Alois Linder from Nussdorf a. Inn, the consecration took place on October 16, 2016. The organ case comes from the organ builder Max Schöglmann (* 1851; † 1896) from Burghausen, he had intended it for an instrument with 6 registers in 1883, a 7th register, the pedal register, stood behind the organ.
