Saint Nicholas is the Antiochene Orthodox cathedral in New York City . The church originated in Lower Manhattan and is now in Brooklyn .

The congregation was founded in 1895 by Saint Raphael of Brooklyn on Washington Street in Lower Manhattan. The ward moved to Pacific Street in 1902 . In the 1920s, the community moved again. She bought a building that had previously belonged to the Episcopal Church . It's located at 355 State Street in Brooklyn.
The building is built in the neo-Gothic style with pointed arched windows and roughly hewn stones and a large rose window above the main entrance. Inside, the church is lavishly decorated based on the model of Byzantine churches with wall paintings depicting biblical stories and a richly gilded iconostasis . The nave is tripartite and is supported by two rows of slender pillars decorated in Gothic style.
